@gewulentus excellent.
You see the true value of something when you take the price tag off.
@toddghall NO, there is NO free market in the USA. The Federal Reserve System must be abolished, and the criminal mass murdering bankers of the Debt Syndicate must be arrested for War Crimes, and Crimes Against Humanity.
Noam Chomsky’s naivety is astounding….or is it just an act?
But, Professor, how am I going to get my gold teeth fixed?
LOL
@Onlythefaceschange. Unfortunately, that was probably the best he could get. Obama underestimated the sway of insurance companies and right-wing nuts — he figured his wave of popularity and the horrible abuses by insurance companies would be enough to push the PO through. Nope. The sad truth is that he had to fight tooth-and-nail against many of his own inner circle just to pass these small reform efforts. It’s a tiny step in the right direction after decades in the wrong one.
@outnout1 Something is very wrong.
I have a a relative undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. One shot that he needs for his white blood cells costs as much as a used car. Four of those shots will cost $32,000. Not including the chemotherapy. I am uninsured, and had been putting off going to a doctor, when one fine evening I needed to use the emergency room. After being asked my social security number for a credit check and five hours of laying in a hallway, the doctor came in and said they don’t know what’s wrong. $4,000
Obamas healthcare plan, as currently ratified, is about like Kissengers “Peace with Honor” when the US pulled out of Viet Nam. Obama campaigned on a healthcare plan with a public option and no mandate. What he signed has a mandate and no public option. He left the private ins. co.s in control. He called this real change. It is not.

@MetalDetroit CAPITALISM: You and everyone else is just another commodity, you have a set value and are absolutely disposable. Yes you have opportunity for betterment (college) but it is highly costly. Tens of thousands of women in Capitalist nations must sexually degrade themselves to pay for a future that they deserve in the first place. The ideal political system does not yet exist, but our dignity and well-being must be guaranteed.
@cayetanoluis Weak.
@Rcbquark Fuck off fag. I was telling him that he should stop watching so much Chuck Norris.
@cayetanoluis Cambodian massacres or Alleged State Communist massacres, the perpetrator is a state seeking power/resources or an entity seeking to become a state at all times subject to the trappings of state power.
Now, Chomsky, do I turn to thee, and mark my greeting well; for what I speak my body shall make good upon this earth, or my divine soul answer it in heaven. Thou art a traitor and a miscreant, too good to be so and too bad to live, since the more fair and crystal is the sky, the uglier seem the clouds that in it fly. Once more, the more to aggravate the note, with a foul traitor’s name stuff I thy throat; and wish, ere I move, what my tongue speaks my right drawn sword may prove.
@MetalDetroit
“Ever hear of the ‘killing fields’ that happened after the Vietnam War?”
Sure, the ones in Cambodia - which, incidentally, the Vietnamese largely put an end to when they invaded the country some years later.
You’re ascribing a level of mass murder to the Communists which is, frankly, ludicrous. Citing these ridiculous “figures” actually denigrates the victims. Like I said, you should hold back on the Churck Norris movies.
@cayetanoluis I’m not talking about during the Vietnam War - Ever hear of the “killing fields” that happened after the Vietnam War? What was done to both the North and South Vietnamese…..
“Ho Chi Minh 20 million murdered”
Ummmm….yeah. You might have put a zero after the two there by mistake, but even with just a two I’d advise you to stop watching too many Chuck Norris movies.
Free market also means that it is allowed to crush all the competition and eventually a few strong companies owns the whole market but it is still considered “free” , even though it has developed into corporatism/fascism. The elite companys has turned into something similiar to a well funtional state or like in the Usa where the richest companys rules the state in one way or another. USA has sadly turned into an fascist country.
@arzoyan
You say Capitalism is the root of dehuminisation ?
Hitler 55 million murdered
Stalin 20 million murdered
Pol Pot 16 million murdered
Moa Tse Tung 65 million murdered
Idi Amin Dada 4 million murdered
Hoa Chi Minh 20 milion murdered
Castro unknown - multiple human rights violations
Saddam Hussein 3 million murdered
it goes on and on….
@toddghall —No, there is no “free market,” & by free market I mean its value rises & falls according to it composite worth, not according whether it’s measured up to the prognostications of tea-leaf readers, speculators, & other such obscurantists.
You can try and ignore the capitalist state, The problem is the state will not ignore you. So we are back to square one. How do we organise to overthrow the capitalist state without producing a clone of it. Only a socialist revolution can even begin to ask such questions of history. And as is so often the case, the hard part is not finding the right answers, but rather, finding the right questions.
Capitalism the root of ill health,poverty and dehumanisation A system of wage slavery of immense humanity for the abstract process of capital acccumulation and concentration for the control of a few. A politically manipulated market mechanism where human needs and well being are determined by profit motive and drive of the capitalist class. Capitalism the template of pepetual war,poverty,exploitation,enviornmental destructions,animal cruelty and so forth
@joinalbin lol its npot up to one person, me or even Chomsky to provide solutions, I kinda agree when he says that you need people to exercise real democracy, you know like find solutions together, not have one person decide everything.
But obviously I dont have a specific solution, its not a guess the right answer type thing either.
@xdeliriumx1 ok then provide some solutions.
I agree with you and that is even what Chomsky says is a good idea but do you really think that will happen? You need to mobilize the majority of the population to do that and also transform major institutions and how things are run.
